Emblema com logótipo Land Rover Discovery

What the Discovery Badge Represents

Discovery has been Land Rover's family and adventure-oriented SUV nameplate for decades, distinct from the more road-focused Range Rover line while sharing the brand's off-road heritage. The wordmark badge is typically mounted on the tailgate or rear door, identifying the model at a glance. Across its generations the Discovery has shifted from boxy, utilitarian styling to a more rounded modern shape, and tailgate badge placement has shifted along with it, which is one reason a generic universal badge rarely sits quite right.

Placement and Fitment

Tailgate Mounting

The featured emblem is designed for the rear tailgate of a Discovery IV, using the MIXT-style finish shown, and can be adapted in size for earlier Discovery II/3 or later Discovery 5 tailgates.

Materials and Finish

Built in durable materials with a mixed gloss/matte MIXT finish by default, with gloss black, chrome, and color-matched paint available on request from Decoinfabric. The finish is chosen to hold up to typical UK and off-road weather exposure that Discovery owners often put their vehicles through.

Installation Tips

Cleaning and drying the tailgate panel before mounting helps the badge adhere properly, and matching the new emblem to your existing mounting holes avoids extra drilling. If your current badge has faded or lifted at the edges, Decoinfabric can build a replacement sized to cover the same footprint.

Why Owners Replace This Badge

Land Rover tailgate badges see constant weather exposure, and on older Discovery models the factory emblem can fade, crack, or lose its adhesive grip well before the rest of the vehicle shows its age. Rather than hunting for an increasingly scarce factory replacement part, many owners commission a custom emblem that matches or improves on the original look, in a finish that suits how the vehicle is actually used, whether that is daily driving, off-road trips, or a restoration project. Off-road-focused owners in particular sometimes prefer a lower-gloss finish that shows dust and mud less obtrusively than a factory-bright badge would.

Before You Order

Let Decoinfabric know your exact Discovery generation and model year, since tailgate curvature, badge spacing, and mounting hole patterns change across generations. Also specify whether the emblem should match or replace your factory badge footprint.
