The Fiat Punto was Fiat's bestselling small car in Europe from 1993 to its discontinuation in 2018, with over 9 million units sold globally. The 3rd generation Grande Punto (2005-2012) and its facelift Punto Evo (2009-2012) / Punto (2012-2018) were among the best-selling superminis in Europe for a decade. Available with a 1.2L FIRE (65 hp), 1.4L 8V (77 hp), 1.4 T-Jet (120 hp), and 1.3L JTD MultiJet diesel (75-90 hp). The Abarth Grande Punto (2007-2014) with 155-180 hp was a genuine hot hatch rival to the MINI Cooper S and VW Polo GTI. The Grande Punto won the 2006 European Car of the Year award and sold over 1.2 million units in its first two years. Despite being discontinued, the Punto remains extremely popular in European secondhand markets due to its low running costs.
