The Hummer H2 is the civilian version of the legendary HMMWV military vehicle, produced by AM General and sold by GMC from 2002 to 2009. The H2 is powered by a 6.0L Vortec V8 (316 hp) or 6.2L Vortec V8 (393 hp in the H2 SUT pickup version). While less capable off-road than the military H1 (due to a shorter wheelbase and lower ground clearance), the H2 became a cultural phenomenon and status symbol in the early 2000s, reflecting a generation's love of bold, oversized vehicles.
