Porsche 911 Targa LED-Einstiegsleisten

What the Targa Badge Represents

Targa has identified Porsche's open-roof 911 variant since 1965, distinguished from the full Cabriolet by its fixed roll bar hoop and, on many generations, a distinctive wraparound rear window. The Targa name has carried through multiple 911 generations, including the water-cooled 996 and 997 era referenced in this listing, making it one of the longest-running body-style badges in the Porsche lineup.

LED Door Sill Placement and Function

These sill plates fit over the door sill/threshold area at each door opening, lighting up the Targa wordmark when the door is opened, similar to illuminated sill kits available for other Porsche and luxury vehicle models. They typically wire into the door-open circuit or a courtesy light feed for a premium welcome effect without needing to add new switches.

Materials and Installation

Decoinfabric builds these sills from stainless steel or aluminum with a laser-etched or backlit acrylic logo panel, powered by LEDs wired to the vehicle's existing door-triggered lighting circuit. Because each set is made to order, sizing is matched to the 911's sill dimensions, and installation typically involves removing the factory sill trim and connecting a light feed.

Before You Order

Confirm your exact 911 generation and body style, since sill plate dimensions and factory trim shapes differ between the 996, 997, and later Targa generations, and check whether your car has an existing courtesy light feed to tap into. This is an aftermarket, custom-made accessory - it is not manufactured, sold, or endorsed by Porsche AG.
