The Opel Astra (Vauxhall Astra in the UK) is one of Europe's most enduring compact cars, in production since 1979 as the Kadett and renamed Astra in 1991 - with over 15 million Astras sold. The 6th generation Astra L (2021+) is built on PSA/Stellantis's EMP2 platform, making it the first Opel/Vauxhall built on a non-GM architecture following Stellantis's acquisition. Available as a hatchback and Sports Tourer estate with a 1.2T (110-130 hp), 1.6T (180 hp), and the Astra Plug-in Hybrid (225 hp combined, 60 km EV range).
