What makes the INSAFE device superior to others?
Unlike other adapters that rely on uncertain strength of burrs and press studs to hold the belt on the underbelly and hips, the INSAFE offers a unique solution that allows the seat belt to be lowered below the belly, redirecting the possible contact force to the iliac spines and groin. This feature provides better protection for an unborn child during car travel, which is demonstrated in a computer simulation of a head-on collision using a digital model of a pregnant woman.
In addition to safety, the INSAFE adapter offers comfort as well. The INSAFE Seat-Belt Guide is a premium product developed by Korean engineers and manufactured entirely in South Korea, renowned for its advanced technology. Constructed from durable 6.4mm thick stainless steel, the adapter is coated with a non-toxic soft material and features smooth edges to prevent clothing from snagging.
The adapter's lime color was chosen purposefully based on analyses that demonstrated its pleasantness to the eye and high visibility, which is crucial during rescues and extrications. In the event of an accident, rescuers need to quickly identify and release a woman secured with the seat belt adapter, and the INSAFE meets both of these requirements with ease.
Installation instructions
- Place the adapter's belt in the gap between the seat and the backrest.
- Slide the belt underneath the seat, making sure it remains untwisted.
- Loop the end of the belt through the upper and lower holes of the buckle.
- Pull the belt downwards firmly to tighten it.
The FITI Testing & Research Institute conducted the following tests on the INSAFE seat belt adapter:
- In a destructive test, the buckle and belt demonstrated a static load resistance of at least 470 kgf.
- The belt was subjected to a test in accordance with the automotive standard MS300-08, which confirmed its non-flammability.
- The adapter was evaluated in accordance with the automotive standard MS201-02 to ensure that it is free from brominated organic compounds and heavy metals that could pose health risks.
- The belt fabric underwent testing in accordance with the KS K 0555 standard to assess its electrostatic susceptibility.
